"Daine.....Daine......"
a voice said.
"huh?" she said. Yeah! She was daydreaming.
"Would you please listen up here. please?" Ms. Rodriguez, their teacher, said.
"uhhhmmmm....sure..." she said. The the bell rang as a signel that classes were over....for them at least.
"Daine. Can I see you for a moment?" Ms. Rodriguez said. Daine went back to her seat.
"What's the matter Daine? You've flunked the quiz, sat down in the wrong seat, and now you aren't listening to any of my lectures. You're one of my best students Daine and I just can't look at you with you're grade point average slowly failing." Ms. Rodriguez said.
"I'm sorry ma'am. It's just that the whole accident with..." she stopped. The teacher looked at her curiously.
"What accident Daine? Your brother never told me about any accident. neither did you're mom." Ms. Rodriguez said. Daine kept quiet. A knock came at the door.
"Oh! Josh! Come in." Ms. Rodriguez said. Daine didn't dare to look at him.
"Uhmmmmm....you wanted to see me ma'am?" Josh said.
"Please take a seat for awhile." Ms. Rodriguez said.
"Ok ma'am." Josh said as he sat a few chairs away from Daine.
"Now Daine....tell me...what's gotten into you?" Ms. Rodriguez asked.
"I.....uh.....I...." Daine said.
"Her dog died!" Josh answered. Daine looked at him ridiculously and mouthed the word 'What???'
"Yes Josh? WOuld you mind repeating that?" Ms. Rodriguez said.
"It's their dog Miss Rodriguez. Fifi just died. Am I right Daine?" Josh said as he stared at her.
"Uhmmmmm.... I don't... Oh! Yeah... It's just so sad to think that my little Fifi would just die like that. She was just a puppy..." she said as she pretended to cry.
"Oh it's alright Daine. Don't worry about your puppy. Tell you what....I'll excuse you for awhile and Josh....could you help her out?" Ms. Rodriguez said.
"I'd love to ma'am" Josh said with a gentle smile.
"Good..... you may go now...." Ms. Rodriguez said.
"Thanks a lot here....you saved me...." Daine said.
"it's nothing.....I'll do anything for you....."

Daine said as she took a look at Joshua's notes.
"Yeah! More or less.... uhmmm....could we...take a break for awhile...it's getting aq bit tiring..." Josh said.
"Sure!! Uhmmm... thanks for volunteering huh?....uhmmmm....my dog died huh???" Daine teased.
"Hey! That was the best excuse I could make to save your but there!!" Josh teased.
"Hmmm...I still won't forget that KICHIGAI!!!" Daine teased as she pinched him and ran away. SHe stuck her toungue out.
"Oh now it's on!!" Josh teased as he ran after her. SHe shrieked.
"Josh stop!!!" she kept on shouting as he tickled her. She just couldn't stop laughing.
"You asked for it!" he teased as he grinned. He stopped. He could sense someone else's presence.
"Uhmmmmm.....Mom! I...uhhhh......" Josh said nervously.
"Hi Tita!! How are you??Uhmmm.... Josh was helping me out in geometry class and.... anyway...where's Bryan???" Daine said defensively.
"Daine! I'm absolutely fine! I was about to ask you the sqame question. HAve you fully recovered from that incident???" Josh's mom asked.
"What incident???...." Daine asked. Josh looked with her mouth wide open.
"Oh! I...uhmmmm.....sorry there...anyway...Bryan's still at school. He's having soccer practice. BUt I bet he'll be back in a few minutes." she said.
"Oh! Well....I better get going Tita! Mom's practically gonna kill me if a get home a bit later than this...most especially Kuya!!! Bye Tita!! See yah at school Josh!!" Daine said. They watched as she left of with their faces full of wonder. The same thought in their heads.
"How could she have recognized if she hasn't seen yet???"

She could still here the faint cries of her brother as she ran so far away. She didn't want to see nor talk t him ever again. How could he have done this?? Her own brother??? She didn't know where she was about to go. All she knew was that she wanted to run...as far away as possible. She could still recall everything....
"Kuya! Tell me the truth!! Who am I???" she asked.
"None of your bussiness Daine! You already know who you are" he said. He was drunk...didn't even care what he was saying.
"Kuya please!!" she begged.
"Stop it!!!" he shouted as he pushed her hard. She hit her head on the floor. Everything began to make sense...the accident....Bryan....shattered glass on the floor....JOSH!!....
"Kuya???But....I...." she said. Tears began flowing from her eyes. She ran away....
"Daine!!!" he shouted. He grabed her wrist.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" she shouted as she pulled her wrist.
SHe got tired of running. She sat just beside the nearest tree she could fine. She felt hopeless....
"Why is the world so harsh???"
