All those welcome, take care, and good-bye pop-ups!
I hate them. They are irritating and totally unnecessary. Some of them hung the computer so you have to close everything. In some cases, they pop-up good-bye when you have just entered and wanted to see more.
If those pop-ups would be with graphics, perhaps nice. Pop-up boxes were originally intended for error messages and warnings. Why not place a colorful /scenic and friendly welcome within your page?
It is so common that it does not really impress anybody to be bombarded with those pop-ups. Really annoying!!

agree 
if there a noobs stumble upon it, they will think "woot, an error!" and they will immediately close the browser.
