1. Create a new Photoshop Document by pressing Ctrl + N. Then set the width to 400 pixels and Height to 200 pixels. Changing other options values is not necessary for this project. Just set its width and height only.



2. Now were gonna change first its background color to black or any other color you want. Right click the Gradient Tool and select the Paint Bucket Tool.



3. Change the color by clicking on the Foreground Color and choose the color you want to use. I prefer using black so I dont need to change its cause its already set to black.



4. Then click the Paint Bucket Tool again (Note that the icon Gradient Tool is now change to Paint Bucket Tool icon) and click on your document to fill its content with Paint Bucket.



5. Then click on the Horizontal Type Tool and click on your document to type in the text you want to display. I type "Simple GIF". If you want to change the text size, font color and font style, just set its values on the menubar on the top of your screen. See the image. I set the font to Monotype Corsiva with the size of 62px and its color is white.



6. Then click on the Jump to Image Ready icon or press Ctrl + Shift + M. Your Application will now transfer from Adobe Photoshop to Image Ready. There we will start creating the animation for that image. If you cant click the icon, check if your selection is still on the horrizontal type tool. If its is, the click on the Move Tool first then click now to the Jump to Image Ready.



7. Now that were on the Image Ready, There are situations that our document has blue lines on it. Just like I encounter, Just ignore it cause I dont know whats the cause of that. Under your monitor, you will see the Animation window. Click on the Duplicate current frame icon, its the icon that looks like a paper. Click it to duplicate the frame.



8. The animation window will now add new animation frame. Then set its time to 1 seconds by clicking the "0 sec." caption of the new frame you created.



9. And then, on the Layer window, "right click" on the Text Layer (with an icon of "T") and select "Layer Style" then select the Outer Glow. Your text will now have the glowing effect. If you want to change the color and other options for that, you can modify it on the "Outer Glow" window. I prefer not changing any other effects other than that cause I intend to teach only the basics for the Photoshop Noobs. See the image.



10. Then on the Animation Window again, then click on add new frame (the paper icon under it).



11. We will clear the third layers syle so that the third frame will display the text without effects. With the third frame selected, right click on the Text Layer (on the Layer window) and select the "Clear Layer Style".
